GPS Phase 3 Confirmed: 2008 - 2011

Improving governance for service delivery

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has confirmed funding with CLGF to allow the Good Practice Scheme (GPS) to continue into a third phase, from 2008-2011. There will be an expanded geographical focus, with six countries included: South Africa, India, Ghana, Jamaica, Sierra Leone and Pakistan.

The GPS aims to improve the capacity of local authorities to better deliver services to their communities, through a process of collborative working, technical exchange, partnership, and shared good practice. Poverty reduction and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) underpin  the GPS work.
